Applications of BBa_K4680004

The FSU iGEM team created this biological device to oxide trimethylamine (TMA) in the small intestine of a human. This device will be inserted into a plasmid then transformed into E. coli. E. coli is used as a proof of concept to test that the device oxidizes TMA. E. coli will then make the Ruegeria pomeroyi monooxygenase inside the cytoplasm. TMA will diffuse into the cell where the oxidation reaction will happen.
